Ama Kwakye was born and raised in New York City. Fortunately, Ama developed an interest for Ghanaian culture at a very young age. Ama was exposed to African Art through her father’s appreciation for their culture . Growing up Ama had paintings, statues, and music embedded in their household.
Once completing her Bachelors in Accessory Design at Syracuse University in 2013, Ama yearned to move to Ghana to follow her fashion dream where it best fit. In July 2015, Ama moved to Ghana to build her company.
In March 1, 2017, Ama Kwakye Co. Debuted her first spring collection in New York City.
